Intuikit®: a multimodal and mobile interface design environment
IntuiLab develops and uses a software
environment dedicated to the design of multimodal and mobile
user interfaces. This environment, Intuikit®, is the product
of more than 10 years of R&D and it has found numerous actual
applications. It brings together all the technologies and methods
for designing visual, multimodal and mobile interfaces, and
it thus opens up new fields of creativity. Intuikit supports
the interface development cycle of the initial model whilst
integrating your applications in existing simulators or operational
systems, thereby guaranteeing a major cost reduction.
The environment, Intuikit®, comprises three components:

The toolkit, all the
software components offering the object libraries for
developing the interfaces and the applications.

The editors, which are
used to define the graphical, voice and gesture resources,
behaviour, multimodal fusion, etc.

The runtime, which provides
an execution environment on different target platforms,
at present PC, PDA and touch-screen PC.
Multimodality and mobility. With its possibilities
of multimodal fusion, Intuikit® facilitates the design of
multimodal user interfaces by enabling sequential or simultaneous
combining of modalities. By managing radio (IR) links, as well
as the WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connections, Intuikit can
be used to provide mobile applications on laptop PC, touch-screen
tablets and PDA.
Adaptation to the environment.
The Intuikit® communication protocol facilitates connection
between existing interfaces and systems, such as simulators
or databases specific to your field.

by only operating a sub-part of its components. IntuiLab can,
for example, commercialise an adapted version of Intuikit®
based only on the graphical and gesture modalities, if using
